HOOKING UP YOUR WRITER FOR REALTIME:

Wired & Wireless
Connections Made Easy

It seems that everyone hates wires! Our recent webinar covering Wireless Realtime Transcription received many favorable comments, along with lots of requests to present another on the topic of realtime connections for steno machines. So, by popular demand, our next webinar will cover all the ways to hook up your steno machine for realtime.

Not all of those ways are wireless. Just as you can connect your realtime clients wirelessly or with cables, you can connect your writer either way, too. There are several choices and choosing the right one for you and your writer is essential. Another important aspect is making sure you're backed up. If one type of connection fails, how can you easily—and quickly—switch to another?

Michael and Scott will begin with an overview, explaining your alternatives, both wired and wireless. Since everyone wants to go wireless, they'll cover those options first, and work through hardware, software, and Windows considerations.

You'll learn about Bluetooth and wireless (WiFi) connections and they'll show you different devices from Socket Communications, IOGear, and StenoCast. They'll review all of the popular writers and discuss the wireless options available for each. So if you're not sure how to connect your writer wirelessly, they'll explain how to go about it.

Then they'll switch gears and cover the wired options for each writer. You'll learn about USB and serial connections, and which to use with your writer and computer. If you're interested in moving into realtime, the first step is to connect your writer. This webinar will show you how to get it done and how to get rid of the wires, too!

VIEW THEM FROM YOUR HOME OR YOUR OFFICE

ReporterSeminars.com presents low-cost online learning webinars provided by highly esteemed instructors and trainers. CEUs are available for most topics so you can earn points while you improve your skills.

Best of all, you can view our webinars from the comfort of your home or office at a time that is convenient for you. All you need is a high-speed internet connection so you don’t need to travel anywhere or spend money on gas, airfare, hotels, meals, and the like.

ATTEND THEM LIVE OR VIEW THEM LATER
—OR DO BOTH!

Are you worried you’ll sign up for one of our webinars and then something will come up at the last minute that will prevent you from attending? Don’t be! We know life is full of last-minute surprises that can knock your plans completely off track. We also know you don’t need one more thing to worry about, so our webinars are available at your convenience.

How does it work? Simple. Sign up for a webinar and we’ll send you an invitation for the live event containing your log-in instructions. If you can’t attend for any reason, it’s not a problem. After the live webinar is over, our presenters produce an edited recording of their presentation and we make that available to our registrants no more than 10 days later. You can view the recording at your leisure, at any hour of the day, for a full 45 days after the live event.

Can you watch both? Yes. In fact, you can watch one, the other, or both. If your schedule allows you to attend the live webinar, by all means do so. Later, as you have the time, open up the recorded version. You can pause, rewind, or fast forward it, just like any recorded broadcast. The recording will remain open as long as you don’t close the internet browser window you’re using to view it, so you can watch it a little at a time, or view certain portions over and over again.

Whether you watch it live or later—or both—you can earn CEU credits. How nice is that?
