Get Financially Healthy!!

Reporters of all types complain about the hassle and cost of bookkeeping. Billing for transcripts and services can be difficult and confusing because there are several different types of content, services and delivery, and most are billed at different rates. Aging and following up on your billings to make sure you’re getting paid for your work is another headache.

Keeping track of your expenses is always a chore and it’s often difficult to know which expenses are deductible and which are not. Then there are your quarterly estimated tax filings, the nemesis of many reporting professionals, most of whom are independent contractors. To make matters worse, the bookkeeping programs written for court reporters are typically expensive, with price tags ranging up into the thousands.

Court Reporters simply aren’t trained for this kind of work and, as a result, many get themselves into financial difficulty because they don’t know how to efficiently take care of their own finances. If you struggle with any of these things, or if you simply know that what you’re doing is now more difficult, more time-consuming, or more costly than it needs to be, you should sign up for these webinars.

Linda Walsh, CPA and QuickBooks Certified Pro Adviser, with the assistance of Michelle Small, a Quickbooks Advanced Certified Adviser, are going to show you how to regain your financial health. Not only that, they’re going to show you how to do it using QuickBooks, a low-cost, off-the-shelf program, to handle ALL of your bookkeeping needs. No need to spend hundreds of dollars, or more, on expensive, “specialized” software. They’re going to provide you with a free QuickBooks template, with a chart of accounts and preferences set up just for court reporting professionals. Then they’re going to show you, in detail, how to use it.

  • How to implement the custom Reporter Template for your work.
  • How to set up your receivables.
  • How to enter your rates for the different kinds of work you do.
  • How to bill and track your receivables.
  • How to easily prepare your 1040ES.
  • . . . And much more!

ATTEND THEM LIVE OR VIEW THEM LATER—OR DO BOTH!

Are you worried you’ll sign up for one of our webinars and then something will come up at the last minute that will prevent you from attending?  Don’t be!  We know life is full of last-minute surprises that can knock your plans completely off track.  We also know you don’t need one more thing to worry about, so our webinars are available at your convenience.

How does it work?  Simple.  Sign up for a webinar and we’ll send you an invitation for the live event containing your log in instructions.  If you can’t attend for any reason, it’s not a problem.  After the live webinar is over, our presenters produce an edited recording of their presentation and we make that available to our registrants no later than 10 days later.  You can view the recording at your leisure, at any hour of the day, for a full 45 days after the live event.

Can you watch both?  Yes.  In fact, you can watch one, the other, or both.  If your schedule allows you to attend the live webinar, by all means do so.  Later, as you have the time, open up the recorded version.  You can pause, rewind, or fast forward it, just like any recorded broadcast.  The recording will remain open as long as you don’t close the internet browser window you’re using to view it, so you can watch it a little at a time, or view certain portions over and over again.

Whether you watch it live or later—or both—you can earn CEU credits.  How nice is that?
